2013 On the Road with CCSAH: Black Point and
Lake Geneva Country Club, Wisconsin

CCSAH for an all-day bus outing to the Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and beer brewer
Conrad Seipp’s Black Point estate of 1888 by Adolph Cudell (with partner
Blumenthal, architect of old Aldine Square and the Peter Schoenhofen Brewing
Administration building in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood). The Conrad Seipp house,
with its lovely Queen Anne details, lake views, and boat dock will enchant with
its Widow’s Walk, lavish interior details, original children’s dollhouse,
verandas, and verdant landscaping of a bygone era. On property originally known
as the resort ‘Kaye’s Park’, the house contains thirteen bedrooms, a grand
staircase, pot-bellied stoves, elaborate woodwork and mirrors, Gilded Age light
fixtures, and sumptuous fireplaces.
